ADA AmendmentsADA Amendments Amendments to the Americans with Disabilities Act that became effective January 1, 2009 expand definitions of "major life activities" and remove the "substantially limited" requirement. Also, the only requirement for "regarded as" is that the impairment must not be minor or transitory (less than six months). There are also requirements for evaluation of impairements without regard for mitigating measures other than eyeglasses or contacts and also requires that the term "disability" be viewed broadly. |
